We publish a site about AI. It would be strange not to use it, and dishonest not to tell you how.
What AI is used for
AI tools may assist with research, finding and organising source material, summarising long documents for an editor to read, suggesting structure, and drafting. They are a starting point for a person, not a replacement for one.
What AI is not used for
- AI does not choose which sources are credible. A person does that.
- AI output is never published as fact without a person verifying each claim against a primary source.
- We do not publish AI generated quotes, or attribute anything to a named person that we did not verify they said.
- We do not generate product test results. If a profile says a test was run, a person ran it.
- We do not mass generate pages to occupy search results.
Accountability
A human editor is responsible for every page on this site. Using a tool to draft a paragraph does not transfer responsibility for that paragraph. If something is wrong, that is on us, not on a model.
Images
Where an image is generated rather than photographed, and where that distinction could mislead, we say so in the caption. We do not present generated imagery as documentary evidence of an event.
Why we publish this
Plenty of sites now run on unchecked generated text without saying so. Readers deserve to know which they are reading. Our editorial standards set out the rest of the process.
