Assessment

What it does well

  • Template driven design that produces respectable results without design skills
  • AI image and content generation built into the same canvas rather than as a separate tool
  • Brand kits keep output consistent across a team

Where it falls short

  • We could not verify current pricing. Canva served an unsupported client page to every automated check we ran, and its own newsroom post is the only reachable figure we found, quoting Canva Teams at USD 10 per person per month starting at three people
  • AI features are metered through an AI Pass credit system rather than being unlimited on paid plans, and the per plan credit counts are also unverified
  • Canva's privacy policy states it may analyse account activity, content, and media uploads to train its algorithms, models, and AI products

Privacy and data control

Canva states it may analyse account activity, content, and media uploads to train its algorithms, models, and AI products, and directs users to its privacy controls page to manage this. Canva Education student content is excluded.

Why the price says unverified

We do not publish a price we could not read on the vendor’s own page. Canva’s pricing, plans, and help pages all returned an unsupported browser interstitial to our checks, so the honest answer is that we could not confirm the current figures. Open the pricing page yourself before subscribing. When we can verify it, this profile will be updated with the date.

What to watch

Known limitations and defaults worth knowing before you commit. Each one says where it came from and when we last checked it.

  1. Uploads may be analysed to train Canva's AI

    Documented warning
    What can happen
Canva states it may analyse account activity, content, and media uploads to train its algorithms, models, and AI products, and points users to its privacy controls page to manage this. Canva Education student content is excluded.
    Why it matters
The material people upload here is often a client's: brand assets, unreleased artwork, photography under licence. That is a different risk from a text prompt.
    Who should be careful
Agencies and freelancers working under a confidentiality agreement, and anyone uploading third-party licensed assets.
    What to do about it
Visit the privacy controls page and set it before the first upload, and check what your client agreement says about processing their assets in a third-party tool.
  2. AI features are metered by credits, not unlimited

    Documented warning
    What can happen
AI features run on an AI Pass credit system rather than being unlimited on paid plans. We could not verify the per-plan credit counts.
    Why it matters
A paid plan reads as an all-you-can-use plan. Here the AI capability is the metered part, and the meter is the thing you will actually hit.
    Who should be careful
Anyone choosing the plan mainly for its AI features, and teams sharing one account.
    What to do about it
Confirm the credit allowance for your specific plan inside your account before committing to a workflow that depends on it.
  3. We could not verify current pricing

    Documented warning
    What can happen
Canva served an unsupported client page to every automated check we ran. The only reachable published figure we found was its own newsroom post quoting Canva Teams at USD 10 per person per month starting at three people.
    Why it matters
A price we cannot read is a price we will not assert. Treat any figure you have seen quoted elsewhere, including ours, as needing confirmation.
    Who should be careful
Anyone budgeting a team rollout from a third-party comparison rather than the vendor page.
    What to do about it
Open the pricing page in a normal browser and read the figure for your own region and team size.
